Vellakuzhakkatai

This type of kozhakkattai is prepared in certain houses during Vinayaka Chaturti time.

Ingredients:

Rice flour                -  1 cup
Jaggery (Gur)         -  1 cup
Ghee                      -  2 table spoons
Grated Coconut      -  1/2 cup
Cardamom powder -  1 tea spoon

1.  Grate the jaggery add 1 cup of water to it and stir well till the jaggery melts.
2.  Heat ghee in a kadai, add the rice flour and stir continously till it turns slightly pinkish.
3.  Add the cardamom powder and grated coconut to it.
4.  Keep stirring till the coconut mixes well with the rice flour and all the water in the coconut evaporates.
5.  Now add the jaggery water to the rice flour and mix well.
6.  Remove from stove and allow it to cool.
7.  After its warm make it into small balls, press slightly till the finger marks appear on one side.
8.  Cook it further in idli cooker for 10 mins.
9.  Serve hot.
